Preacher: Jeremy Herbert
Text: Acts 25
Theme: Pentecost: The Church on Fire
Notes:
We must each decide if we are going to live to please God or live to please people.
John 12:42-43 (NKJV)- Nevertheless even among the rulers many believed in Him, but because of the Pharisees they did not confess Him, lest they should be put out of the synagogue; 43 for they loved the praise of men more than the praise of God
The Mind of People Pleasers
- They want the approval of man more than the approval of God.
- They fear the displeasure of man more than the displeasure of God.
- They use flattery to manipulate others.
- They choose the easy way rather than the right way.
- They are willing to compromise truth for convenience.
- They push difficult responsibilities on others.
- They seek to make friends with important People.
People Pleasers have a vision Problem.
- We need a big vision of God
- We need to view ourselves in light of Christ.
- Get your identity from Christ, not people.
